La ex sinagoga di Emden esistette dal 1836 al 1938. Nello stesso luogo probabilmente sorgeva già dal XVI secolo una casa di culto ebraica, che nel 1836 dovette essere sostituita a causa della sua cattiva stato. Durante i pogrom di novembre del 1938, i nazionalisti locali distrussero l'edificio.
