L´Università della musica e del teatro di Lipsia , è un'università ubicata a Lipsia, nello stato di Sassonia, Germania.
Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy, compositore e direttore dell'Orchestra del Gewandhaus di Lipsia fondò un conservatorio a Lipsia il 2 aprile del 1843. La scuola cambiò sede e nome diverse volte: nel 1876 fu chiamata Königliches Konservatorium zu der Musik di Lipsia , e ci fu una nuova sede inaugurata il 5 dicembre 1887.
