La salita al villaggio di Herhahn da Gemünd può essere effettuata lungo la trafficata B266. Ma ci sono due belle alternative attraverso strade rurali (strade chiuse al traffico automobilistico ad eccezione del traffico locale e dei veicoli agricoli), che evitano la trafficata Bundesstraße.
1) La prima alternativa è l'Alter Römerweg a Gemünd (ripida all'inizio, fino al 12%) e poi la strada Am Lieberg, e dopo il Haselnußweg.
2) La seconda alternativa è seguire la strada Hohenfried da Gemünd.
Inoltre, c'è anche la possibilità di salire a Herhahn dal lato sud-est, dal villaggio di Scheuren, attraverso la Höddelbachdal.
