Essinghausen è un villaggio e una frazione orientale della città di Peine nel distretto di Peine in Bassa Sassonia. A nord e vicino al paese passa l'autostrada federale 2.
La prima menzione documentata del luogo risale al 1311 come "Esekeshusen". Il nome è composto dal genitivo del nome personale "Esik" e dal suffisso "hausen". I luoghi con questo schema di denominazione "nome personale - ing[e] - parola base del nome dell'insediamento" sono chiamati tipo Barsinghausen. Il nome è evoluto da "Esekhusen" a "Eseckhusen" fino a diventare Essinghausen.
