Benavente è un comune spagnolo di 19.119 abitanti situato nella provincia di Zamora, comunità autonoma di Castiglia e León e capoluogo dell'omonima comarca. È situata in posizione strategica su un colle a 744 metri di altitudine dove convergono le fertili valli dei fiumi Tera, Órbigo ed Esla a 62 km da Zamora, a 63 da Astorga e 70 da León, al limite di due zone diverse sia fisicamente che economicamente: la comarca di Benavente y Los Valles e la pianura della Tierra de Campos.
