Il castello di Prades si trovava all'estremità nord-ovest della popolazione di Prades. Attualmente rimane poco. Fu abbandonato e venne diviso tra diverse case, il che ora rende molto difficile la sua interpretazione. L'elemento del complesso castellano meglio conservato è stata la cappella o chiesa di Sant Miquel del castello di Prades, recentemente restaurata. Prades si trova al centro delle montagne che portano lo stesso nome, su un altopiano al confine con La Conca de Barberà, L'Alt Camp e El Priorat.
