La storia
Nel 1884, Paul Baudry, vicedirettore della filanda, una delle fabbriche tessili più potenti della regione all'epoca, acquistò un frutteto dal signor Zurcher per costruirvi una villa. Costruita in pietra dei Vosgi e circondata da un parco, la villa fu completata nel 1885.
Nel 1948, le Mines de Potasse d'Alsace ne divennero proprietarie e lo affittarono alla Sécurité Sociale Minière.
Nel 1990, la città di Cernay acquistò la villa per preservare questo patrimonio e progettò di installarvi una mediateca. Questo è stato fatto nel 1999. La mediateca è stata aperta al pubblico con 15.000 documenti su una superficie di 850m² su 3 livelli.
