Questa è la seconda tappa della Via Tolonensis, in Francia conosciuta anche come GR653, una delle quattro principali vie dalla Francia a Santiago de Compostela. L'itinerario parte da Arles passando per Montpellier, Castres e Tolosa fino al Col de Somport dove si collega ai cammini spagnoli.
La tappa da Saint-Gilles a Vauvert è lunga circa 17 km ed è segnata con i famosi segni bianco-rossi. Le tappe 2 e 3 sono relativamente brevi e possono essere unite se necessario.
