Desford è un villaggio e una parrocchia civile nel distretto di Hinckley e Bosworth, a 7 miglia a ovest dal centro di Leicester e circa 7 miglia a nord-est di Hinckley. Situato su una collina a circa 400 piedi sopra il livello del mare, la parrocchia include i borghi di Botcheston e Newtown Unthank e un insediamento sparso a Lindridge. La popolazione al censimento del 2011 era aumentata a 3.930. Desford è nel Domesday Book del 1086, ma il nome stesso è più antico, significando "Deor's Ford", suggerendo un'origine anglosassone. Un'altra ipotesi è che significhi "guado frequentato da animali selvatici".
