La città metropolitana di Milano è una città metropolitana italiana della Lombardia. 11ª città metropolitana per superficie territoriale preceduta da Reggio Calabria e Venezia. Prevista per la prima volta dalla legge n. 142 sul nuovo ordinamento degli enti locali dell'8 giugno 1990, art. 17-21, è stata definitivamente istituita dalla Legge 7 aprile 2014, n. 56, sostituendo a partire dal 1º gennaio 2015 la preesistente provincia di Milano.
