Il verde smeraldo del mare e il bianco abbagliante delle spiagge di ciottoli, i ciuffi di palme nane e cespugli di rosmarino, i carrubi e gli ulivi secolari, i sentieri fiancheggiati da acanto che si inerpicano verso le vette più alte, le grotte che si aprono all'improvviso le scogliere dove nidificano aquile e falchi... la riserva naturale dello Zingaro è un'esperienza unica.
Nulla si sa sul perché questa zona sia chiamata "zingara", infatti dalle fonti storiche non si hanno notizie di nomadi che abitassero queste zone, mentre viene segnalata la presenza di una colonia longobarda nel XIII secolo.
