Il teatro fu tagliato nel fianco della collina e venne inaspettatamente alla luce durante gli scavi del 1953 .
Probabilmente risale al IV secolo a.C. circa.
Il teatro è fortemente eroso e può essere riconosciuto come tale solo con difficoltà. Gli scavi furono interrotti per mancanza di fondi e ripresi solo nel 1958. Fu poi scoperto anche l'odeion , che molto probabilmente fungeva anche da casa popolare. Il teatro è rivolto ad est e offre agli spettatori una bellissima vista sul mare . La tribuna semicircolare è composta da 23 piani a gradoni, ciascuno alto 38 cm, ed è divisa in cinque settori da quattro scale.
Il teatro si trova nei pressi di un'ampia piazza, alla quale era collegato da una scalinata; ha circa 2500 posti a sedere.
