La Passage a L'Aia è il centro commerciale più antico dei Paesi Bassi ed è stato aperto nel 1885, grazie anche al famoso Hagenaar Petrus Josephus de Sonnaville (1830-1925), uno dei fondatori del Kurhaus a Scheveningen.
La parte più antica (il braccio Spuistraat e Buitenhof) è stata costruita in uno stile neo-rinascimentale orientato internazionalmente, mentre la parte successiva verso Hofweg è stata realizzata in uno stile espressionista.
La Passage è un monumento nazionale.
