Segue il risultato della importante funzione di trasporto della Vecht che molti stabilimenti furono fondati lungo l'acqua. La fila di case nella curva della Vecht tra Loenen e Vreeland apparteneva a un tale stabilimento. Il piccolo borgo si chiama Glashut. Il nome ricorda la fabbrica di vetro che qui era situata alla fine del XIX secolo, presso la residenza di Oostervecht. Qui venivano prodotti bottiglie per birrifici e distillerie ad Amsterdam e nei dintorni. C'erano due forni di fusione, in modo che si potesse produrre 24 ore su 24. Nel 1897 la fabbrica chiuse e fu demolita. La Glashut è composta da case per operai per i dipendenti della fabbrica. Poiché molti di loro provenivano dalla Germania, venne usato il nome 'Glashutte', che significa fornace di vetro.
