Il Museo Oold Ark contiene una enorme collezione di strumenti e attrezzi del secolo scorso. Old Ark significa letteralmente: Vecchi attrezzi. La collezione è stata raccolta e descritta da Albert Mulder. Recentemente è stata aggiunta a questa collezione anche una collezione molto particolare: durante la costruzione di un viadotto tra Oosterwolde e Makkiga sono stati trovati diversi strumenti in pietra focaia dell'era paleolitica. Così, molti "older ark" sono entrati nel museo.
Il museo è ospitato nel mulino di grano De Weijert a Makkinga. Il sabato, il mulino è visibile in funzione, diversi volontari sono stati formati come mugnai e mantengono viva la tradizione.
