Queste sono arrivate dalla Scandinavia con il ghiaccio durante l'ultima glaciazione intermedia (Saalien, circa 238.000 – 126.000.000 anni fa). A Stokkum è stata scavata una grande pietra (Berghse Kei) che ora può essere vista all'ingresso del castello a ’s‑Heerenberg, a Hoch-Elten c'è un ‘Findling’ e anche nel terreno di ’t Peeske a Beek ce n'è una esposta.
