De landbouwkundige staatsopleiding Rotholz in het kasteel Rotholz bevindt zich in de gemeente Strass im Zillertal, in het Unterinntal bij Jenbach.
Oorspronkelijk bevond de Rottenburg zich boven de vallei, maar de naam Rotholz is al in 1180 schriftelijk vastgelegd. Het was in die tijd in bezit van de heren van Rottenburg, ministerialen van de graven van Andechs. Als kasteel wordt het in 1263 schriftelijk vermeld als Castrum Rotenbruchì. Later komt ook de naam Thurnegg voor, als uitkijktoren, zoals het kasteel aanvankelijk ook heette.
