Neogotische parochiekerk uit de periode 1895-1899 naar ontwerp van architect C. De Maeght. De kerk met aan de rechter zijde de pastorie vormde het nieuwe religieuze centrum van Huizingen. De oude functie van bedevaartkerk ter ere van de Heilige Leonardus werd overgenomen door de nieuwe kerk wat resulteerde in het ontstaan van een pelgrimscafé 'In den gouden appel' ten noorden van de kerk.
