In Oudenburg trokken de Romeinen het enige Belgische kust-castellum op, wat de plaats tot één van de oudste sites van ons land maakt! Het Romeins Archeologisch Museum (RAM) laat je via reconstructies, maquettes, computersimulaties en archeologische vondsten grondig kennismaken met dit castellum en zijn bewoners. Er is ook een landschapstuin bij waar je je kan wagen aan Romeinse spelletjes.
Daarnaast is er ook het Bezoekerscentrum Sint-Arnoldus en de Sint-Pietersabdij, waar je de geschiedenis van de voormalige abdijsite ontdekt. Geniet daarna, in het museumcafé of op het mooie terras met zicht op het park, van een koffie of een streekbiertje St-Arnoldus met een plakje Sint-Arnolduscake.
