Twee beeldhouwers creëerden uit een 800 jaar oude lindeboom, die tot in 1974 het Zoerselse dorpsplein sierde, een opvallend kunstwerk. Pol Van Esbroeck beeldhouwde in de stam zo’n 85 figuren uit het lokale dorpsleven, waaronder een pater en een non, een molenaar, een duivenmelker en de eerste vrouwelijke burgemeester van Zoersel. Mariëtte Coppens vertelt op de takken het verhaal van ‘De Loteling’ in zeven episoden. Het resultaat is te bewonderen in het Lindepaviljoen.
