De naam van Sint-Jacobskapelle verwijst naar een kapel die hier in 1420 zou zijn opgericht. De huidige kapel staat tussen kastanjebomen en is een heruitgave van de kapel die er voor de Eerste Wereldoorlog stond. Ook in deze kleinste deelgemeente van Diksmuide houdt een monument de herinnering aan de oorlogsslachtoffers levend.
