Het koninklijk museum voor natuurwetenschappen te Brussel is één van de drukstbezochte musea in België. Het werd reeds in 1814 opgericht als een klein museum en vanaf 1846 kwam het in Belgisch staatsbezit. Het museum bezit een enorme collectie fossielen, mineralen, insecten, overblijfselen van hedendaagse platen en dieren. De beroemdste attractie van het museum zijn de iguanodon (een grote plantenetende dinosaurus) skeletten gevonden in een oude mijn in het Henegouwse Bernissart.
