De stickercultuur komt uit Californië, waar skate- en surfmerken logostickers uitdeelden aan hun klanten. Die zorgden ervoor dat de merken overal te zien waren: op skateboards en surfplanken, maar ook op palen, muren, ramen, bushokjes, in de toiletten van trendy cafés... Van gratis reclame gesproken! Op de brug zie je vanalles: van originele, handgemaakte zelfklevers tot industrieel gedrukte stickers zonder enige creatieve pretentie.

Ga op zoek naar de ‘Ta Gueule’-reeks van Porko Gang met het logo van de Stad Brussel. Dat is werk van de Vlaams-Brusselse rapgroep Stikstof, met Zwangere Guy als bekendste rapper. Een andere reeks stickers is alomtegenwoordig: de boodschap ‘J'existe’ en ‘Je suis partout’ is van de hand van de Luikenaar Thierry Jaspart, die vooral streeft naar zichtbaarheid. Hij heeft geen roots in het graffitimilieu en wordt dus als parvenu beschouwd door de echte jongens van het illegale nachtwerk. Zelfs de ‘Fuck Thierry Jaspart’-stickers iets verder op de reling zijn via zijn website te koop…
