De route leidt ons verder naar de oude molen op de Molenberg. “Tot 2020 was hier alleen een verweerde ruïne”, vertelt Pieter. “Ook deze windmolen werd tijdens WO I in brand gestoken.” Intussen zorgden de nodige consolidatiewerken voor het behoud ervan. “Het is nog steeds een ruïne, maar één die niet verder kan aftakelen.” Iedere eerste zondag van de maand kan hij bezocht worden. “Let dan zeker op de bijzondere dubbele helix trap”, geeft hij nog mee. “Zo’n trap vind je onder meer in het Vaticaan.”
