Dit gebouw is een voormalige school die opgericht werd in 1864 door de stad en tot 1904 beheerd door het liefdadigheidskantoor. Vandaar de naam van de nabijgelegen straat "rue de l'école".
De school werd omgevormd tot een postkantoor van 1912 tot 1936, en is vandaag (2023) omgebouwd tot een café.
