Deze steen herdenkt Alwin Hoven (8 jaar), Paul Braun (8 jaar) en Günther Jansen (6 jaar) die hier in november 1954 zwaar gewond raakte door een mijn. Paul Braun stierf aan zijn verwondingen na enkele uren, Alwin Hoven enkele maanden later.
Het monument herdenkt ook alle mensen uit Bergstein die tussen 1944 en 1954 omkwamen als gevolg van de oorlog.
