Het LVR-Niederrheinmuseum Wesel (voorheen Preußen-Museum Nordrhein-Westfalen Wesel) heeft zijn plaats gevonden in het oude graanmagazijn van de Weseler vestingcitadel. Het graanmagazijn werd in de jaren 30 van de 19e eeuw gebouwd. Alleen de kelderverdieping vertoont nog de oude gewelfstructuur, terwijl de twee bovenste verdiepingen na de Tweede Wereldoorlog sterk zijn veranderd en nu zijn heringericht tot ruime tentoonstellingsruimtes.
Het LVR-Niederrheinmuseum Wesel is een historisch en cultuurhistorisch museum dat de geschiedenis van het Neder-Rijngebied bekijkt in nauwe verbinding met de Nederlandse buurlanden en in de wisselwerkingen met Europa. De huidige permanente tentoonstelling richt zich op de middeleeuwen en de vroege moderne tijd en omvat het innovatieve cultuur- en economische gebied van de “Niederrheinlanden”, dat oostelijke Nederlandse, Vlaamse en Brabantse gebieden omvat.
