De OMV ADAC Rallye, ook bekend als de Deutschlandrallye, speelt zich af in een gebied dat vooral bekend staat om zijn klassiek-toeristische aantrekkingskracht. Er wordt gereden in de omgeving van de Moezel, terwijl ook de bossen van het Saarland worden aangedaan. Gezien de geringe afstand vanuit Nederland is het de moeite waard het gebied te verkennen vanuit Trier, de oudste stad van Duitsland.
