Binnen de muren van de abdij zocht Maarschalk Ferdinand Foch rust en bezinning tijdens de Eerste Wereldoorlog. De cisterciënzer abdij op de Katsberg (Abbaye du Mont des Cats) was daar in de 17e eeuw door Belgische monniken gevestigd, maar tijdens de Franse Revolutie verwoest. In 1826 is het klooster herbouwd. De trappisten van de abdij maken een kaas, de Abbaye du Mont des Cats, die goed te vergelijken is met de Port Salut.
