We draaien linksaf op de weg die komt van Bédoin. Na tweehonderd meter komen we bij de hoofdweg. Links kunnen we straks wijn kopen, maar nu beter niet. Want we moeten nog eens wat klimmen.
De klim naar Malaucène is niet erg aangenaam langs de hoofdweg D938. Het is een drukke weg die Carpentras verbindt met Vaison la Romaine. Er rijden veel vrachtwagens. Goed opletten dus.
De helling zelf valt nogal mee. Voorbij de top gaat het bergaf tot in Malaucène.
