La Ciotat is een badplaats in het Franse departement Bouches-du-Rhône . De gemeente telde 35.993 inwoners op 1 januari 2019. De plaats maakt deel uit van het arrondissement Marseille. De plaats wordt gekenmerkt door industriële activiteit in de vorm van een grote scheepswerf . Deze werf werd gesloten op 31 juli 1988, maar is sinds 31 juli 1994 weer operationeel. Naast de scheepswerf is toerisme de grootste bron van inkomsten. La Ciotat geniet bekendheid door de vele calanques die er in de omgeving te vinden zijn, waarvan de calanque "Bec d'Aigle" de meest indrukwekkende is.
