Cublac ligt op de grens van de drie natuurlijke geografische regio's Limousin, Périgord (Vézère-vallei) en Quercy (Causse-plateau), aan de voet van de uitlopers van het Centraal Massief. Het dorp wordt bediend door belangrijke snelwegen van noord naar zuid (A20) en van oost naar west (A89), door de luchthaven Brive-Souillac (op minder dan een half uur) en door het SNCF-station Terrasson (op 2 kilometer). Cublac ligt in het district Brive la Gaillarde, in het departement Corrèze, dat vroeger deel uitmaakte van de regio Limousin. Hier vind je enkele uitzonderlijke sites, waaronder de geklasseerde dorpen Collonges la Rouge en Turenne. Cublac ligt op korte afstand van Terrasson Lavilledieu, in de Dordogne.
