Geschiedenis
In 1884 kocht Paul Baudry, adjunct-directeur van de spinnerij, destijds een van de machtigste textielfabrieken in de regio, een boomgaard van de heer Zurcher om er een herenhuis te bouwen. De villa, gebouwd van Vogezensteen en omgeven door een park, werd voltooid in 1885.
In 1948 werd de Mines de Potasse d'Alsace eigenaar en verhuurde het aan de Sécurité Sociale Minière.
In 1990 kocht de stad Cernay de villa om dit erfgoed te behouden en er een mediatheek in onder te brengen. Dit gebeurde in 1999. De mediatheek ging open voor het publiek met 15.000 documenten op een oppervlakte van 850m² op 3 niveaus.
