Châteauneuf-la-Forêt, gelegen tussen Limoges en Mont Gargan, is een van de toegangspoorten tot de regio Monts et Barrages, die het label "Pays d'art et d'histoire" heeft gekregen. Het glooiende landschap met zijn bomen en uitlopers van het Centraal Massief is een ideaal speelterrein voor wandelaars. De "paden van de geschiedenis" lopen ook door dit gebied, dat vele wapenfeiten heeft gekend, met een zeer actief maquis van het verzet. Tot slot zullen de meer beschouwende mensen zeker de voorkeur geven aan een wandeling door het Parc Jane Limousin of een wandeling rond het Lac de Saint-Hélène. Het VVV-kantoor van Briance-Combade nodigt je ook uit om de rijkdommen van zijn gebied te ontdekken, dat de gemeenten La Croisille-sur-Briance, Linards, Masléon, Neuvic-Entier, Roziers-Saint-Georges, Saint-Gilles-les-Forêts, Saint-Méard, Surdoux en Sussac omvat.
