Totnes is een civil parish in het bestuurlijke gebied South Hams, in het Engelse graafschap Devon. De plaats telt 7456 inwoners.
Volgens een legende, opgeschreven door Geoffrey van Monmouth in zijn Historia regum Britanniae, zou Totnes de plaats zijn waar Brutus van Troje voor het eerst voet aan land zette op het Britse vasteland. Een steen, de "Brutus Stone", zou de precieze plaats markeren. Vermoedelijk is de steen, die voor het eerst werd genoemd in het werk Worthies of Devon van John Prince uit 1697, echter veel jonger.
