Nationaal Park De Weerribben (in 2004 uitgeroepen tot mooiste plekje van Nederland) is een eldorado voor de watersporter. Maar ook fietsers en wandelaars kunnen er uit de voeten. Het is een oud veenlandschap, dat - toen de turf was weggegraven- veranderde in een uniek natuurgebied. Nationaal Park De Weerribben is één van de fraaiste 'wetlands' (moerasgebied) van Europa. De flora en fauna zijn van ongekende rijkdom.
