Piet Paaltjens, alias dichter François HaverSchmidt, startte als predikant in Foudgum. Op deze plaats schreef hij ook het mysterieuze Oera Linda Boek. De fietsroute brengt je van Foudgum naar Leeuwarden, via een aantal terpdorpjes die eveneens gelinkt zijn aan het leven van Piet Paaltjens.
