Den lukkede sænkning af Livadia er et polje. Den laveste del af bassinet ligger omkring 320 m over havets overflade. Som en lukket sænkning opsamler den et tykt lag af jordmateriale. Du vil se masser af landbrug her. Et stort problem her er at have nok vand. For at kunne irrigere jorden er der lavet en kunstig sø i den østlige del af poljet. Men under mit besøg i august 2022 var den vandbeholder stort set helt tør.
