If you can live with the fact that you have climbed a mountain three metres short of 3000m, you will find Torrenthorn well worth the effort. The ascent is made much easier by taking the Torrent gondola to Rinderhütte situated at 2310 m. From the Torrenthorn hotel (2459 m) the trail follows the western ridge along a narrow but clearly marked trail to the scenic summit. On account of the magnificent views of the surrounding area, the Torrenthorn is often called "Rigi of the Valais". Return via the same route to the Rinderhütte station, the upper terminal of the Torrent cable car.
