Travel by car or public post bus from Saas-Almagell to the top of the dam at Lake Mattmark (2200m). Start from Mattmark (2208 m), terminus of the bus route. Here, an easy hike awaits you, leading you along the west side of the lake to Distelalp. From there, walk back to the starting point of the hike at the east side of the lake.
