The Laurentiamolen is an eight-sided belt mill with a wingspan (wing cross) of 27.30 meters. The Laurentiamolen originally does not come from Milheeze, but was moved in 1893 from Bleskensgraaf in the Alblasserwaard. In Holland, many wooden mills were built, which stood better in the marshy polders due to their light weight. Around 1850, these mills began to be replaced by steam mills. The dismantled mills were often purchased and placed in Brabant, as happened with this mill. The mill was moved after the earlier smaller mill on this site burned down. The new mill had three pairs of grinding stones and was used for grinding grain (especially rye and the buckwheat widely grown in the Peel) as well as for linseed and rapeseed for oil.
