¿Sabías que en la Colonia de Wortel se mantenía una disciplina bastante estricta? Diariamente había un control por parte del maestro de barrio o de sección y se elaboraba una tarjeta mensual de cada familia. En ella se indicaba cuál era la puntuación en cuanto a comportamiento, higiene y salud. Los colonos que estaban mal vestidos o cuya vivienda no estaba en orden no podían ir a trabajar.
En caso de negligencia se retenía el salario. Ante infracciones graves se trasladaba a las personas a la colonia no libre en la vecina Merksplas.
A pesar de esta estricta disciplina, mantener el orden era un problema bastante grande. En 1828 se registró lo siguiente: de una población de 600 personas:
