The former radio station Radio Kootwijk is a beacon in the middle of the Veluwe nature. From this former broadcasting station, contact was maintained with the Dutch East Indies in the last century.
Peace, space and darkness surround the striking design by architect Julius Maria Luthmann. They give the building complex a special dimension.
After the loss of the broadcasting function, KPN Telecom sold the buildings and the surrounding 400 hectares of nature to the state in 2003. Various authorities are now working together to find a new destination for this unique and vulnerable complex.
