Kurz vor dem Beginn des Zweiten Weltkriegs 1939 verschwand die Tschechoslowakei von der Landkarte Europas . Die Wiederherstellung der Tschechoslowakei, später inoffiziell auch die Dritte Tschechoslowakische Republik , war das Resultat der Bemühungen der Exilregierung in London mit den siegreichen westlichen Verbündeten der Anti-Hitler-Koalition: Frankreich, Großbritannien und den Vereinigten Staaten.
