Bologna Centrale ist der Hauptbahnhof von Bologna, der Hauptstadt der italienischen Region Emilia-Romagna. Der Bahnhof hat eine wichtige Knotenfunktion im italienischen Bahnnetz, da er Bindeglied zwischen der Hochgeschwindigkeitsstrecke Bologna–Florenz und der Bahnstrecke Verona–Bologna ist. Seit Dezember 2008 endet im Knoten Bologna auch die Hochgeschwindigkeitsstrecke von Mailand. Alle drei Strecken sind Bestandteil der TEN-Achse Nr. 1. Mit 20 Gleisen gehört er zu den größten Durchgangsbahnhöfen in Europa.
