Das Schloss Wiepersdorf nimmt in der Geschichte der Künste, insbesondere der Literatur, eine besondere Stellung in Deutschland ein.
Als ehemaliger Wohnsitz von Achim von Arnim und Bettina von Arnim, dem bedeutenden Dichterpaar der Romantik, hat es eine lange Tradition als Ort des geistigen Austausches. Nach einer wechselvollen Geschichte hat 2006 die Deutsche Stiftung Denkmalschutz die Aufgabe übernommen, das Haus mit Unterstützung des Landes Brandenburg und des Bundes dauerhaft als Künstlerhaus zu erhalten. Am 1. August 2019 wurde das Haus von der Landes-Kulturstiftung übernommen.
