The Cantillana Bridge, also known as the Carlos V Bridge, is located in Badajoz, is two hundred and twenty meters long and has seventeen arches, was built by order of the architect Gaspar Méndez between the years 1531 and 1535, during the time of Emperor Charles V.
It is an engineering work to cross the course of the Gévora River, a tributary of the Guadiana, near the city of Badajoz, on the old road to Cáceres. It was a passage used until the early 1980s, although it is currently in a very poor state of preservation.
