For a generous dose of romance, you are in the right place in and around Maastricht. Through walking junctions, you can wander past green estates and lovely castles just outside the city, where 19th-century industrial magnates like Petrus Regout sought peace and quiet. A highlight of the route is Kasteel Vaeshartelt, once a historic country house and now a unique castle hotel. During the walk, you will discover the park, the ice cellar, the tea pavilion, and the hidden gardens that give this route its charming character.
