Il Solsche Gat è una meta popolare per i new age e i cercatori con il bastone, perché qui credono di trovare linee di ley. Una linea di ley è una linea retta sulla superficie terrestre tracciata attraverso più punti di interesse geografico, facendo riferimento a un presunto legame tra quei punti. In genere si tratta di luoghi preistorici, scavi archeologici e antiche chiese. Gli esoterici credono che le linee di ley siano percorsi energetici. Il nome è derivato da raggruppamenti lineari di villaggi inglesi che finiscono con -leigh o -ley. La sua esistenza è stata proposta per la prima volta nel 1921 dall'archeologo dilettante britannico Alfred Watkins.
