Dette ishus blev stadig brugt indtil 1935.
Ishuset blev tidligere brugt som kølig rum til opbevaring af mad.
I vintermånederne blev isblokke fra dammen taget op og staplet i kælderen. I løbet af sommeren gav de en kold temperatur. Med fremkomsten af elektriske køleskabe mistede ishuset sin betydning og stod tomt.
Flagermus har brug for en konstant, frostfri temperatur og høj luftfugtighed under deres vinterhi, samt tilstrækkelig hvile. For det formål er et ishus en ideel løsning. Zedelgem købte ishuset i 1997. Det er ikke tilgængeligt.
